Back Pain Treatments-Opinion Or Experience?

Image
You know often when you are looking around for something its interesting to ask others views and experiences. I asked two people recently about the same city I am intending to visit-one loved it and one hated it. I tried to look at those people and see how close they were to me in what they liked to do and what I like to do and came to the conclusion we are all different.  Guess I'll have to make my own mind up after I experience it...and in my opinion that goes for back pain solutions too. You need to ask questions, get views from others who have tried back pain treatments, medical opinions and expertise, read all you can, look at testimonials and then and this is important - make your own judgement based on your knowledge of YOU, your back pain and your experiences. If you don't do that you may miss your solution. If I had listened to everyone I would never have found my back pain solution. Most of my family except my husband thought I should go for back surgery. I ...

An Open Letter To Those Without Invisible Disability Or Chronic Illness

Hi there, At last I found this wonderful letter to share with you; "An Open Letter To Those Without Invisible Disability Or Chronic Illness " I had found it some time ago and then lost it again. Now I have linked here so I won't lose it again! It is all about understanding people who have an illness or disability that is not necessarily obvious. I think that back and sciatic pain can come under that banner heading.  I know from my own experience while some people were understanding of my sciatic and back pain and the effects it had on me-physically and emotionally; others were very dismissive of "back pain" as being anything much to be concerned about... I wish I could have given those people this letter... From the site "Not Done Living " :- Having an invisible disability (ID) and/or invisible chronic illness (ICI) means that many things change. Just because you can’t see the changes doesn’t mean they aren’t real. Most people don’t und...

A vacation for me and my back!!

I have been under a lot of stress lately, especially at work and was very much looking forward to my holiday. Due to working very long hours, sitting and driving a lot, doing no exercise at all and being tense-essentially clearly overdoing it- I noticed for the first time in over a year, some back pain and sciatica symptoms creeping up on me...my back was warning me it was working too hard as well and needed some TLC, but I totally ignored it - no excuses, my responsibility. So while on holiday I decided to get the matter under control and not let it get any worse. The advantage I find of having knowledge of the lose the back pain system is that I can now apply the pain reduction techniques and exercises as soon as I need to. I understand better how my body works and I just did the simple self assessments again and applied what I needed to. I also spent about an hour or more a day in the pool. For me water therapy was suggested by my neurosurgeon and by Steve Hefferon of the H...

My struggles with back pain and sciatica.

I would like to share my back pain story with you and if you find it useful that will make me happy.I am always impressed with people who knowledgeably negotiate their way through back pain and if that's you I hope you laugh with me at how naïve I was when i was trying to work my way through the back pain maze. I did not try everything and I am well aware people have success with things which did not work for me and vice versa. If you want to know how it was for me please read on….. This account is not always pretty and I am not always proud, but it is a frank, and very personal journey.….. A year ago I knew nothing of the trials of back pain. Sure I had a riding accident when I was 10 and since the age of 18 minor episodes of backache, spasms and pain, but always resolved quickly, if not completely….a few treatments, rest, and back to normal. In my youth I was athletic, loved horse riding and running and nothing was stopping me. After all isn't a little back pain part of...

Welcome to Life with my pet back :}

Hello and welcome to my blog where i hope to share with you reflections and information which may help anyone who is coping with a "bad back". I am not a back pain professional, just a recovering back pain sufferer; I have been there and it was one of the worst times in my life, so i understand. So although i will mainly discuss back pain related issues, sometimes we need a break from it and a bit of a laugh or something inspiring to keep us positive so i am sure we will get onto other topics from time to time. Wishing you peace and happiness
