A Personal Review Of "Lose the Back Pain" System

Image
My Personal Review Of "Lose The Back Pain " There are a lot of back pain remedies and programs out there so here is a view on my personal use of this one.  Here I cover what I thought of it in my situation, the tips to using it, what it covers and includes, what is good and not so good about it, about muscle imbalances and why they are relevant, red flags of back pain and other useful back pain information.  This is not just another academic review of a back pain system. I have lived with back and sciatic pain and I have used "Lose The Back Pain System". I have talked personally with Steve Hefferon and Jesse Cannone of The Healthy Back Institute and asked them many questions.  You have maybe tried lots of back pain and sciatica treatments, have some given temporary relief or have you had no relief from pain? Are you Looking for a non-invasive, non-surgical approach?  Do You Have Any Of These Back Pain Conditions/Symptoms? Sciatica Low back ...

Should You Stay In Bed If You Have Back Pain ?

When you have back pain its pretty tempting to stay in bed. However unless you have been medically advised to stay in bed it is not generally the best thing to do ! When we remain still and stay in bed for a long time our muscles become weak and atrophy and get stiff. This in itself can cause or lead to further pain.  Bed rest used to be advised for back pain but not so much now. My physio and neurosurgeon and massage therapist all advised me to move gently. By all means if you are in a lot of pain it may be helpful to stay in bed for a day, maybe two but any longer and you could be on your way to lengthening your recovery time. If you really feel you cannot get out of bed or it is agony to move at all then you need to seek medical help.  Otherwise some gentle movement taking it easy but keeping the muscles moving and warm can be better.   Clearly always take medical advice for your specific condition and circumstances.  Lose The Back Pain System Lose th...

Back Spasms ! Ouch!!!

Image
My Back Spasm Pain ! So Monday morning I  was drying my hair and a sudden sharp incredible pain shot through my back on the right hand side! Where did that come from? Well I was in agony, my back was in spasm! When I realised what had happened I knew I had to get started on treatment.  I knew to stop any activity and to sit or lie down and rest the muscles. It is important not to tense other muscles -although that is easier said than done. anyone who has ever had a back spasm knows how incredibly painful they can be.  I could not move with out severe pain -any movement caused my back muscle to go into a massive spasm! So although i am not a big fan of pain meds I had to get some to help me.  From my experience of back pain and my back and its reactions I now know to always do ICE for the first 2 days -to help reduce inflammation and give some relief during a spasm. So I grabbed my ice pack which has sat in the freezer for years now and got that on to th...

Using the Lose the Back Pain System -Hints and Tips.

Everyone is different but this is just an idea of how you might approach all the information you will receive when you get your copy of lose the back pain system. Then do the assessments, take you time over these and go back and do them again if you are not sure. You can do these alone but it may be helpful if you have someone with you. Lose The Back Pain System Lose the Back Pain, is a system of self assessments to determine what physical imbalances you may have that may be causing your pain, then specific...

Kick Off Those High Heels!

Don't you just love high heels!  They are stylish and look sleek and beautiful.  However much as I love my shoes, they are no longer my regular shoe of choice and if you have back pain they maybe should not be yours. Why? Well look at yourself in a full length mirror in your underwear while wearing them. First stand with no shoes on and see how your spine curves-there should be a gentle "S" bend but nothing too exaggerated. Then put on your heels(we are talking 2" plus here.) Do you see how they throw your spine out of its normal alignment? Does your spine curve more? Is the lower spine now an exaggerated curve? Take them off and stand and you will see the difference. If your spine is held in that posture throwing the hips forwards and downwards for too long, too often, you are likely to develop muscle imbalances and pain. If you already have back pain and have particularly a forward titled pelvis like I had, then you are doing yourself no favours. With ...

Want To Carry On Gardening?

Image
Hi there, I am so happy it is nearly Spring here :) Longer days and shorter nights and more sunshine(hopefully!),nesting birds and the garden starts to burst into life again :) One of the things Spring means to me is more time in the garden. I love my garden. However , with herniated and dessicated discs in my lower back I have learnt to protect my back and do my gardening in a slightly different way... Back pain is often cited as a culprit of causing back injury, especially in the spring when us gardeners have perhaps been taking it a little easier in the winter then burst into action with the first flowers!!! Also if you have a back issue gardening may seem a daunting task rather than a pleasure. If you want to avoid back pain from gardening or are keen to know how to still carry on gardening with back issues read on... For tips for  gardening with back pain please read   Tips for Watering the garden  If you already have back and sciatic pain and sti...

What Can Massage Therapy Really Do For Your Back Pain?

Article courtesy of Steve Hefferon, CMT, PTA and co-founder of "Lose The Back Pain" If done correctly, massage therapy can work wonders for people with back pain. It may not always be the best choice, and it may not work for everyone. But most people will get great results if the massage therapist has a good understanding of the human body, muscle imbalances, and how to work with them. A word of caution: Massage therapy should never be considered a substitute for proper medical attention. As a massage therapist for the past 10 years, I have watched massage therapy grow in popularity and credibility to the point where the practice is now commonplace for those who suffer from back pain. There is no denying the positive effects massage can have on the body. Most massage therapists use a variety of techniques during a session, such as energy techniques and stretching, along with traditional massage. The Touch Research Institute at the University of Miami has coordinated...
