Here you will find information useful to those who are dealing with sciatic and back pain.

We are also including additional information I found useful when I was suffering from sciatic and back pain, to support you in caring for your back.

There are many possible diagnosis of back pain, I have endeavoured to list the main ones here. There may also be those of you who have no clear diagnosis (that was me for 6 months so I understand)

Sleeping With Sciatica

One of the most frustrating aspects of having back and sciatic pain is the toll it takes on your sleep.Until I had that night after night pain of back pain and sciatica keeping you awake even when you are incredibly tired I did not know what sleep deprivation is.

Lack of quality sleep can and does affect your mood, your health, your productivity and your relationships. It is important to try to tackle the reasons why you cannot sleep well.

This may be anything from your muscle imbalances, your sleep posture, your mattress or stress to name a few.
It is also very important how you get in and out of bed so as not to strain yourself so do watch the video on how to do that safely. The following pages I hope will be of help to you.

My Back And Sciatic Pain

I had severe bi lateral sciatic pain in both legs from hip to toe and low back pain for several agonising years.The pain came on suddenly, however I have since learned that it was likely coming on for years.

I went through a whole range of emotion and fears, trials and hope.
My aim is to share what I learned to hopefully help others who may be on this back pain wheel. I do not get much if any pain now but I do know know how to take care of my back and how to manage it.

The Importance Of Posture

It sounds old fashioned doesn't it talking about posture. Feels like the films you see where girls were instructed how to have good posture by balancing books on their head!

Well its not quite like that, but if you have back pain or even if you don't want to get back pain, posture is of vital importance.

Of course serious incidents or accidents that damage the back or illnesses or structural concerns of the spine can also cause back pain and sciatica. However a large part of back pain can also be put down to improper posture over time and muscle imbalances.

In some cases once this has been corrected the pain can ease or disappear. It is however always relevant to keep a good posture in mind and act upon it on a daily basis.
